Turning gossip into gold: the power of Viva Engage

Kimberley emphasises the power of gossip in the workplace to foster conversation, connection, collaboration and creativity

“In the workplace, ‘gossip’ often gets a bad rap, but what if we could reframe it?,” she said.

“With Viva Engage, informal chatter can become a constructive force that fosters connection, collaboration, results, and creativity.”

Kimberley shared how she’s used Viva Engage over the past decade as not just a platform for updates, but a powerful space for:

  • Amplifying employee voices

  • Building authentic relationships across teams

  • Turning informal conversations into actionable insights

  • Aligning employees to organisational mission and goals

  • Achieving improvements in customer experience through employee listening

During my 22 years as a communications professional, I’ve seen first hand how structured engagement on platforms like Viva Engage can elevate informal dialogue into opportunities for growth and innovation,” Kimberley said.

“Instead of avoiding workplace gossip, why not channel it into something productive?

“Let’s rethink workplace dynamics and make conversations work for us.
